For Authors

  1. The articles of academic staff of legal field, researchers, doctoral students and practicing lawyers can be submitted to the Journal.
  2. Author’s affiliation (academic degree, academic position, working/studying place) and contact data (country, city, email, and telephone number) must be indicated.
  3. Articles can be submitted individually, as well as with co-authorship.
  4. The number of authors of a single article must not exceed five.
  5. If co-authorship, a contact person must be indicated, with which the editorial will have a communication, additionally, submitting contact and affiliation information about every co-author, is mandatory.
  6. Co-author must verify co-authorship through the Journal’s email, otherwise, application for publication of the article will be cancelled.
  7. Author should be able to indicate the part of the article on which the co-author is responsible.
  8. Author(s) may have assistant, which takes part in the article’s non-scientific side (technical assistance, data collection, writing assistance, text correction, revision, etc.). In this case he/she must be referred as the assistant and not as the author.
  1. Provided article must be the result of the original research, in a form of the initial publication, which is not published elsewhere or provided for publication, in the same or in another language.
  2. Compilation or texts containing revision, where the research and provisions for recommendations and conclusions done by the author, cannot be identified, are inadmissible.
  3. The consistency of the article, analysis of a problem, objectivity of citation, novelty and versatility of a referenced literature is important.
  4. Fragmentation must be avoided in the article, if there are several co-authors, their research must be merged to prevent the loss of integrity and unanimous style of the article;
  5. The results of the research must be provided clearly, in good faith and not through the falsification/manipulation of irrelevant data.
  6. One entire research must not be divided into several parts or in order to publish in several journals.
  7. In the paper author can criticize a work done by other scholar, however, a personal critique is inadmissible.
  8. Using hate speech, uncensored and offensive phrases and phrases causing ethnic and religious hostility are inadmissible for the author. Author’s article provided for publication must not have discriminatory character.
  9. Any form of plagiarism is inadmissible in the article. Author must indicate a precise source for the information used in the article.
  10. If the author uses tables, diagrams, processed statistics or texts, that is already published elsewhere, he/she is obliged to obtain a permission from the owner of the author’s rights. This information must be referred in the footnote of the article.

  2. Users can view, read, download, copy, share and print the full texts of the journal articles, without prior registration and the prior permission of the publisher and / or author;
  3. The author retains the copyright to the work and grants the journal the possibility of primary publication. The article licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License. This license gives the right to use it further, with reference to the author and the original publisher;
  4. Author is able to distribute journal’s published version of the work non-exclusively (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with reference to the source of the original publication.
  5. Authors have the right to revise their own works, although they are required to cite the journal as the source of the original publication.

Precisely and briefly demonstrates the main problem of the article, creates an idea about the content of the article and ignites an interest towards the mentioned problem. The maximum number of words in the title is 20. Author’s comment on the title is indicated with asterisk, with an explanation at the end of the page.

Author’s name, surname, academic degree, academic position, work/study place, city, country.

Article is presented with minimum three and maximum seven key words, which describes as much as possible the affiliation of the article to the scientific discipline, and discussed main concepts. Abbreviations are not used, as well as general words and words encompassing several concepts. Based on the key word, a relevant article can be found.

Abstract is placed before the main body of the text and describes the given issue. It sums up those main issues, that are described in the article by author. It narrates article’s content briefly and precisely, in a way that creates a possibility for a reader to understand a scientific problem without reading the publication. The aim of the abstract is to help reader to decide whether the given information is interesting for him/her, why he/she should read it and what questions are answered in the research. Abstract contains 150-250 words.

Author can also provide a video version of the abstract, which will be uploaded along with the article. Abstract must be provided only in English. It gives possibility to the author to present the content of his/her article in a visual form. The video must not be longer than three minutes. Sending a video abstract is ensured by clicking the ‘send an article’ button and uploading in the following format:

Sending the abstract in the form of video is not mandatory and is based on the preferences of author.

In this part the actuality of the given issue, research topic, established aims, tasks and stages are emphasized. Structuring the problem and clearly establishing the issue are important.

In the main body of the text, the content of the issue is presented, where an important place is given to the description of the research and analysis of outcomes, the process of research itself and coherent analysis, according to which theoretical conclusions, interim results and overall outcomes are shown.

Main part of the text is divided into structures (chapter/subchapter, paragraph, etc.), which makes the article easier to understand.

It represents a continuation of the main body of the text. It briefly and shortly sums up the results of the research, describes the main idea, scientific novelty and its value, main findings and possible recommendations, creates interest and further perspective for continuing the research.

It (referenced literature, comments, author’s explanations and remarks) must be placed in the text at the end of the pages (in the language of publication).

Literature referenced in footnote must be indicated in numbers, however author’s remarks and explanations – with asterisk, which is not numbered.

If in the same page of the article, one source is indicated consecutively, indication of the source secondly is not required and the word “ibid” must be written with relevant page number.

It is presented in consolidated manner, numbered at the end of the text in the language of publication. Bibliography offers the background of the idea and an additional reading material, encompasses not only the sources that are referred in the article, but also works of those authors, who are quoted, but used as a way to develop an opinion. It also encompasses descriptions, normative acts, court decisions, etc.

It is recommended to clearly distinguish in the bibliography the following: used normative materials, court decisions, scientific literature and other additional materials (for ex. dictionary, etc.).

It may be used in the text with relevant title and numbered (tables, graphics, small images, pictures, manuscripts, questionnaires, etc.). Using the annex is preferable only if it backs the opinion and a reader will receive detailed information on the matter, based on it, and at the same time the data must be given in such a large-scale that its indication in the text will make obstacles for reading.

  1. The number of submitted article must not exceed approx 7000 words, including bibliography, footnotes and annex.
  2. The article must be provided in A4 format; font size – 11; font size in footnotes – 10, font – Sylfaen, whereas English in – Arial/Times New Roman. Font in footnotes – same as the main text. Space between lines – 1.5; top and bottom margins – 2.5 cm, left and right – 2.5 cm.
  1. All parts of the text structure described above are mandatory, except for the video abstract and the appendix.
  2. Author must provide a complete, technically and grammatically ordered text to the editorial board.
  3. Editorial board does not consider a publication of the article, which is not structured according to the standards of the “Law and World”.
  4. If published, the article will be available for any of the reader and this does not require any additional written consent from the author.
  5. Receiving of the paper is ensured through uploading it on the Journal’s webpage. See - Submit Article.
  6. Each article is being professionally checked.
  7. After publication, technical inaccuracies can only be corrected based on the authors note.

Articles may be submitted in English, or in Georgian-English (After January 2023).

  1. Any fact of plagiarism is considered as unethical and unacceptable behavior. Author must ensure proper and accurate indication of the sources used in his/her article.
  2. Submitted article, after checking its consistency with technical parameters, is being checked using the digital platform – Turnitin.
  3. Based on Turnitin’s platform, a report is prepared, which encompasses information on the documents with which the resemblance is established in the article.
  4. Considering that Turnitin only checks information available in the internet, it does not fully ensure finding other forms of plagiarism, for example: rephrased plagiarism, etc. Therefore, after checking it in Turnitin, the article is reviewed confidentially, in two-fold manner, according to the rules established by the “Law and World”.
  5. Except checking the scientific quality of the article, a reviewer observes if there is a resemblance, in any form, with published works of other scholars on the same topic.
  6. If, in any form, plagiarism is revealed, editorial board reviews it according to the Code of Ethics of the “Law and World”.
  7. The following is considered as plagiarism:
    • Copying word for word other author’s article, idea, formula, any fragment, etc. and presenting it as an own (direct plagiarism);
    • Compilation of several authors’ phrases, when the author is indicated, but it is impossible to identify the part where the original idea of the author of the article ends and where the quotations are placed (mosaic plagiarism);
    • Changing the words of other author with synonyms, without modifying the main structure and content of the text, changing the order of the words in the sentence, providing a certain part of the text with his/her words (rephrased plagiarism);
    • Negligent omission or misplacement of an important information while referring the authors or sources (negligent plagiarism);
    • Hiding the assistance provided from other person, which is then is used in the article, to manifest a group project as an individual one;
    • Purchasing the article or part of it from other person and manifesting it as an own;
    • Manifesting his/her own old article as a new one (self-plagiarism);
    • Appropriation of verbally expressed ideas, opinions, theses (which are not published, such as lecture, speech, seminar, symposium, training, discussion, etc.).
  1. In order to publish an article in the journal “Law and World”, selection of the articles takes place via the open call, announced on the official webpage;
  2. Sharing the information about the announced call is allowed by the partner organizations, via social platform or other means;
  3. Four planned volumes are issued throughout a year, in March, June, September and December (After January 2022).
  4. An additional volume can be issued at any time in the year;
  5. Terms for submitting an article for each of the planned volume is announced at least two months in advance;
  6. A digital version of the planned volume is placed on the official webpage on the last day of the issuing month, whereas the printed version can be published later, however, not later than two weeks after publishing a digital version.
