About the Journal
Journal Profile
Law and World (LaW) is an international, peer-reviewed, and refereed scientific journal of the European University Institute of Law. It is a stable academic platform for legal research and is published in both print and electronic formats. The journal is oriented toward publishing scholarly works of high academic value in accordance with international academic standards.
The journal is open to collaboration with scholars from different countries worldwide. Articles are accepted and published only if they comply with the editorial policy, academic standards, and peer-review requirements of Law and World Journal.
Aims and Scope
The aim of the Law and World is to promote the development and dissemination of scholarly knowledge in the field of law. The journal serves to deepen international academic dialogue, the internationalisation of legal research, and to foster comparative analysis of legal experience and practice across different jurisdictions.
The journal publishes research of an international and comparative nature in the fields of international law, human rights, constitutionalism and the rule of law, criminal justice, contemporary challenges in private law, and digital law.
The journal also welcomes research conducted in other fields of law, provided that they are carried out within an international or comparative legal context and engage with topical issues of contemporary international academic discourse.
Works focusing on legal issues within a single jurisdiction will be considered only where they clearly demonstrate the international significance of the research findings, their comparative value, or their potential for applicability and generalisability to other legal systems.
Interdisciplinary Approach
Authors are encouraged to enrich their legal analysis by drawing on knowledge from other disciplines (such as philosophy, economics, politology, public administration, or technology studies), provided that legal analysis remains the central and dominant component of the research.
